What YFU does

Arrival

Your arrival in Belgium will also be your first contact with YFU Flanders. A YFU-representative will be at the airport waiting for you and he/she will introduce you to your new family!

During your stay

During your stay, YFU representatives will be in regular contact with you to check how you are doing. You will also have a personal counselor (we call them junior counselors) who is usually a YFU returnee. This way he/she will have a good understanding of how it is to be an exchange student and can relate with you better.  Your hostfamily will also be in contact with someone from YFU, the counselor, who usually are hostfamilies themselves. These people are there for you and your hostfamily and will help you throughout the year.
Regularly you will receive invitations for YFU activities. Apart from various activities such as get togethers that are organised separately in every region, you will also have the opportunity to meet all YFU students in Flanders during three main occasions -- orientation week, follow-up/re-entry weekend and a cultural trip. The cost of the cultural trip is included in the program price for students coming for the year program or the semester program in January. The trip usually takes place in Paris.
